Who would get the most benefit from the lifestyle, amenities and care services at Palos Verdes Villa?
Our ideal resident would have a list of the following qualities:
Services: Needs food prep, medication assistance, transportation to the doctor. Need help going to the store, or paying a bill or reminding to take a pill etc.
Physical well-being: needs basic supervision/assistance but is independent, is mobile with or without walker, doesn’t require full-time one-on-one care, doesn’t need a wheelchair most of the time, doesn’t require lifting, doesn’t require diaper changes, doesn’t have wandering or memory issues, doesn’t have a drug or alcohol problem, doesn’t have behavioural issues.*
Lifestyle: wants to interact with like-minded, similar age people, will benefit from activities / hobbies.
Disposition: sweet & pleasant, talkative, social, positive, ready to move-in.
Finances: monthly income of $2,500 or if on low-income, we may be able to help get you on the ALW (Assisted Living Waiver) program.
*The reason we have included a lot of what isn’t ideal for us, which basically means who we can’t help is to help bring you greater clarity in whether Palos Verdes Villa could be right for your loved-one.
It’s not that we can’t help people with some or all of the “doesn’t attributes” listed above…
Sometimes, if an existing resident develops any of those needs, we can usually help out and accommodate, but…
Primarily our facility, staff and insurance is set-up in such a way that the persons we can help best, have (some or all of) what we have included above and don’t have some or all of the above.
