Imagine being 80 years old…
You feel all your aches & pains, all-the-time, from living a well-lived life…
You move slowly and safely to avoid any slips, trips & falls..
But…
This time you’re surrounded by a community of similar aged, like-minded new friends…

You’ve got someone to help you put on a clean pressed shirt or skirt in the morning, if you’d like…
And… there’s a staff member (who started out a stranger but you now consider a friend who always reminds you to take your meds)…
Plus; you get 3 meals a day…
Your cat lives with you…
You live in a great location (possibly the same area you’ve lived in for years)…
And there’s always something to do, someone to talk to…
And the best thing is…
You’re NEVER alone… unless you want to be, but that parts up to you.
Either way, there’s always someone there if (or when) you need them… for ANYTHING!
To help or talk. For hobbies, or games, or movies or chats.
Now…
When you picture yourself at 80, which one sounds better?
I think you’ll agree the second story sounds MUCH better, doesn’t it?
Well, this is what life is like for our community of seniors, here at Palos Verdes Villa.
You see, the trick is…
When you begin to “See” the world through an older person’s eyes…
From their perspective…
You start to realise … moving into an assisted living facility … can be the best thing to happen to a senior, since they became, well… senior!
But as we mentioned in a previous message, it’s all about…
Timing & Attitude.
Because if someone moves into an assisted living facility too early, then they may feel their sense of independence has been swapped for 24/7 supervised care and attention…
Which of course, isn’t such a bad thing… but still, they may not be ready for that, yet!
And even if the timing is right, in terms of the level of care required, we still have to get your loved-one on-side with the game plan.
So we have to be mindful, because feelings of resentment or loss of control … can arise in your loved-one, which could create a knock-on effect…of unwillingness to participate or give assisted living a good try.
So that’s why we say Timing and Attitude is crucial. As is Location and Level of care.
And of course… Patience.
Lots and lots of patience. 🙂
And lots of love too, which we can help you with…
You see, here at Palos Verdes Villa, our philosophy is simple:
We treat our residents with the dignity and respect they’ve earned the right to receive — as senior citizens of our country…
…and we give each resident the personalized levels of care and support they deserve as individuals, loved-ones and valued members of our community…
… plus we deliver it all — with compassion and integrity — 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
Now…
If a philosophy like that sounds like something you’re looking for…
If getting care like this for your loved-one…would remove a huge weight off your chest…
And if you’d like to discuss things further, we’d love to meet you.
All you have to do is visit our tour-page, check our availability and book your spot.
As always, if you have any questions, we are only a phone call away.
Yours in senior service,
